Guiding our clients through the intricacies and responsibilities of working with Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (LSRP)
In May of 2009, the State of New Jersey signed the Site Remediation Reform Act (SRRA) into law. This act caused significant changes to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s (NJDEP’s) Site Remediation Program. Perhaps the most important change was the establishment of an LSRP (Licensed Site Remediation Professional) Program that transferred the primary remediation oversight responsibility from the NJDEP to the private sector.
The LSRP program essentially privatizes the remediation process, by placing oversight responsibilities for investigation and remediation of particulars site in the hands of licensed environmental consultants, specifically New Jersey licensed site remediation professionals.
