Questions
Q. What inspired you to become an environmental attorney?
A. During my undergraduate studies, I took an oceanography course to fulfill a science requirement, and it sparked both a fascination with and concern for climate change and environmental issues. Initially, I pursued graduate school with the goal of working in GIS mapping or climate modeling, but I eventually realized that a career in law offered the most effective path to achieving more impactful and long-lasting change. I was particularly drawn to the potential for driving environmental progress at the state and local levels, where policy and advocacy directly influence communities.
Q. What excites you most about the field of environmental law?
A. How dynamic it is. I truly enjoy being in a space where I’m constantly learning — whether its navigating new legal frameworks or engaging with the latest developments in environmental science. The challenge of staying at the forefront of both legal theory and natural sciences keeps me motivated and inspired, as it allows me to continuously grow while also making a meaningful impact.
Q. How do you connect with your clients?
A. My approach to connecting with clients is rooted in understanding their unique challenges and ultimate goals. Whether I’m advocating for those unjustly burdened by environmental contamination, demystifying complex regulatory requirements, or providing general legal research and writing services, my motivation comes from a deep sense of community and a commitment to empowering others. I see the importance in ensuring a client feels supported, informed, and confident that their interests are being prioritized every step of the way.
Q. What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?
A.Outside the office, I love to travel and explore new places, especially hiking at state parks and checking out the latest museum exhibits. I also enjoy going to the theater, and every now and then, having a karaoke night with friends!
